Portuguese producer and DJ ØTTA has released “4X4,” a new collaboration with Brazilian artist Bibi Babydoll, arriving via ØTTA’s own label and global party brand HOTTIES. The high-intensity single serves as the latest preview of her forthcoming debut album, PELE DE MAR, due September 18.
“4X4” brings Bibi Babydoll’s unmistakable phonk-driven energy into ØTTA’s playful, rave-focused world, resulting in a fast and physical collision of Brazilian-rooted club sounds, heavy electronic production and frenetic dancefloor energy.
Known internationally for her breakout hit “Automotivo Bibi Fogosa,” which reached No. 1 on Spotify’s Ukraine chart while also charting in Brazil, Bibi Babydoll brings a larger-than-life vocal presence to the collaboration. Her distinctive delivery adds another layer of intensity to ØTTA’s production, reinforcing the borderless approach that runs throughout PELE DE MAR.
The collaboration also continues ØTTA’s longstanding connection to South America, a region that plays an important role in the forthcoming album. PELE DE MAR moves between Portugal, South America and the UK, reflecting the places, relationships and experiences that have shaped ØTTA’s life while tracing her evolution across more than a decade as an artist, producer and DJ.
That international perspective extends to the album’s wider cast of collaborators. Argentine artist FIAH appears on “GATA FINA,” while Brazilian artist Lua de Santana, who has previously worked with Nathy Peluso, joins ØTTA on “REBOLA DE SALTO.”
For ØTTA, the album represents something much broader than a collection of club records. PELE DE MAR explores the experiences that have shaped her both personally and creatively, connecting different stages of her life through rhythm, movement and sound.
Music and art have been a constant presence throughout ØTTA’s life. Before breaking through with her high-energy debut Plus One EP in 2020, she spent six years playing in an orchestra before moving into the worlds of art and architecture. That background introduced her to ideas of symmetry, repetition and structure — concepts that continue to influence the way she approaches electronic music.
Those instincts have since developed through her acclaimed live performances, including her breakout Boiler Room set in Manchester, as well as through HOTTIES, the label and event series she created as a platform for creativity and community.
With PELE DE MAR, ØTTA looks back across 12 years as a musician while exploring the wider story of her life — the people, places and relationships that have shaped her identity and informed the artist she has become.
“4X4” places that personal history directly onto the dancefloor, connecting ØTTA’s rave-driven production with Bibi Babydoll’s Brazilian phonk influence in a collaboration that feels built for movement, intensity and cultural exchange.
“4X4” featuring Bibi Babydoll is out now via HOTTIES. PELE DE MAR arrives September 18.
