Anna Lunoe, hailing from Sydney, Australia, is known for her incredible, high-energy House sets and charismatic presence behind the decks. Throughout the beginning of her career, she dominated the Australian music scene and hosted a radio show for the FBi station. She continued to crawl up the ranks by opening for huge acts like Diplo and Flosstradamus, and became the first female to head the Ministry of Sound AU’s Clubbers Guide complication series.
Anna Lunoe is the real deal, opening doors for women DJs for over a decade. When she came to Los Angeles in 2012 to expand her career, she broke the Electronic Dance Music world with her debut EP, “Anna Lunoe & Friends”. The single “Real Talk” reached the number one spot on the Beatport Indie Dance Chart for four months, while her collaboration with Flume, “I Met You”, generated over three million views on YouTube. Lunoe continued to create history not only as a strong producer but as a woman in music which is a demographic highly underrepresented in the EDM scene.
Lunoe’s life changed in 2017 when she started the journey to motherhood. Despite her pregnancy, Lunoe continued to produce and tour. At eight months pregnant, she even headlined her own stage at Hard Summer’s 10-year anniversary festival. She took a three-month hiatus after the birth of her daughter, Willa, which was the longest she had ever done since the beginning of her career.
I’m more focused on what I want to do. There are constraints on everything, limitations to how much time I have to do things, to travel, what shows I say yes to, etcetera. I am forced to be very picky about how I spend my time. Ultimately, I think it’s made me a more sonically consistent artist, more intentional and way tougher.

Since the birth of Willa, Lunoe has continued to pursue her music more inspired than ever. In 2018 she released collaborations with some of the world’s biggest producers, including Dillon Francis, Born Dirty and Valentino Khan. She also made her first European festival debut at Tomorrowland in Belgium and continued to headline huge festivals like Electric Zoo and CRSSD Fest.
In February of this year, Lunoe had her second child, a son named Rocky. The same month Lunoe announced that she would be returning to EDC Las Vegas 2020 or their 10-year anniversary festival. Lunoe was the first woman to play the mainstage under the electric sky four years ago. This year, you will be able to find her at EDC Las Vegas at cosmicMEADOW.
It’s clear that Lunoe has an incredible passion for her music and is paving the way for future women DJs. It’s no wonder she’s one of our top picks for Woman Crush Wednesday. There is no sign that Lunoe will be slowing down in 2020. She has grown as an artist over the last decade and taken on life’s new stages in stride. It’s inspiring to see her dominate the game for so long and we’re excited to catch her again in May at EDC Las Vegas.
