Hailing from Newark, DJ Jayhood reimagines KAYTRANADA’s signature production through the lens of Jersey Club, incorporating the genre’s unmistakable kick patterns, rapid-fire rhythms, and infectious energy. The result is a remix that amplifies the carefree, dancefloor-focused spirit that defines CANDY, while paying homage to one of the East Coast’s most influential underground sounds.
Originally released on March 27, CANDY marked a pivotal moment in Justine Skye’s artistic evolution. The project was introduced by “Thong,” a KAYTRANADA-produced single that followed a string of dance-driven releases throughout 2025, including “Oh Lala” and “YAP.” Those tracks earned praise from outlets such as Billboard, BET, Highsnobiety, and Stereogum, while showcasing Skye’s growing ability to bridge the worlds of R&B and dance music.
