Desert Hearts return with their latest release, “HTL,” a powerful new collaboration with Techno Tupac, available now via Desert Hearts Records.
Built around the collective’s longstanding mantra — House, Techno, Love — “HTL” transforms that philosophy into a peak-time club weapon. Driven by a rolling low end, hypnotic vocal chants, and the kind of energy built for late-night dancefloors, the track captures the spirit that has defined Desert Hearts since its inception.
The release follows the group’s recent California EP, which marked a significant new chapter as the founders formally stepped forward under a unified artist identity. Speaking with Billboard, Mikey Lion explained the motivation behind the move: “We’ve always felt strongest as a crew.”
That collaborative mindset has been at the core of Desert Hearts for more than a decade. What began as renegade gatherings in the Mojave Desert has since evolved into a globally recognized label, festival, and community rooted in connection, inclusivity, and a shared love of underground dance music. The collective’s recorded output now reflects that same communal energy, bringing their signature ethos directly into the studio.
Joining the release is Los Angeles-based DJ, vocalist, and producer Techno Tupac, who continues to emerge as one of dance music’s most exciting rising talents. Known for blending hip-hop attitude with driving tech-house grooves, he has earned support from artists including Green Velvet, Tchami, and Chris Lorenzo.
With releases on respected labels such as Dirtybird, South of Saturn, and Space Yacht, along with performances at major festivals including Coachella, Electric Forest, and Lightning in a Bottle, Techno Tupac has steadily built momentum through high-energy performances and club-ready productions.
Now, alongside Desert Hearts, he delivers a collaboration that encapsulates the collective’s founding spirit while providing a fresh addition to the summer festival and club circuit.
