Kicking off 2026 with undeniable presence, Platinum-certified Atlanta producer, “plugg” pioneer, rapper, and artist MexikoDro returns with the official music video for his new single “Hire,” out today. The track remains a fan favorite from his acclaimed 2025 release, Still Goin The EP, which is available now.

Directed by QUVN and J Woods, the visual finds MexikoDro leaning against a classic 1985 Chevy Monte Carlo, draped in a flashy fur coat that mirrors his effortless confidence. The opulent imagery pairs naturally with his braggadocious verses, reinforcing the laidback swagger that has become his signature. Sonically, his hypnotic delivery melts into a gritty, piano-laced beat, culminating in a bold, self-assured declaration: “Mexiko finna be straight when he retire. I be clean as fuck, look at my attire. If I apply for a job, they gonna hire.”

Still Goin The EP further cemented MexikoDro as a proven and enduring force in hip-hop. Pitchfork praised standout track “No Date,” placing it in both The 40 Best Rap Songs of 2025 and The 100 Best Songs of 2025, noting its reflection on stability and growth beyond his early plugg innovator days. Paste named the project one of The 15 Best EPs of 2025, calling “No Date” one of the year’s strongest rap records, while The FADER spotlighted “Twice” among The Best Rap Songs of November 2025, praising his grounded, no-nonsense approach in a clout-driven era.

The momentum continued with a detailed profile in Rolling Stone, which highlighted how his sound channels classic Atlanta rap energy through triumphant, eerie synths, without relying on traditional trap tropes. Leading up to the EP, singles like “Remy” earned acclaim from VICE, which dubbed his style “modern-day hustler music,” while “Height” surpassed 6 million Spotify streams. Lead single “MARTA” also drew attention from Pitchfork, with high-profile co-signs from artists including Yeat and Tyler, The Creator.

Already an influential producer with credits for Drake, Playboi Carti, and Kodak Black, MexikoDro has steadily built his solo career behind the mic. His breakout track “No Date” has now amassed nearly 13 million Spotify streams, cracked the Top 10 on the US Shazam Chart, and earned placement on key playlists like Spotify’s Most Necessary, No Cap, Out The Mud, and Fresh Finds: Hip Hop. A viral moment with Lil Yachty further amplified its reach.

With “Hire” setting the tone and momentum firmly on his side, MexikoDro enters 2026 poised for another defining year, with much more on the way.
