Dutch electronic trio Kraak & Smaak have announced their highly anticipated new album Velvet Seas and unveiled the latest single, “Travel Light.” Released via their own imprint Boogie Angst, the track is a radiant orchestral dive into the heart of ’70s disco, powered by the commanding vocals of longtime collaborator and frontman IVAR. Serving as the third single from the forthcoming album, it captures the trio’s flair for fusing timeless influences with modern production.
“Travel Light” bursts with cinematic vibrance, weaving swelling strings, funk-drenched guitar licks, and extended grooves into Kraak & Smaak’s signature analogue-driven style. From the opening swirl of strings and bold brass accents to the vintage warmth that hums beneath the groove, the single radiates a euphoric energy designed for both dancefloors and festival main stages. At its core, IVAR’s soulful vocal performance cuts through with precision, turning the track into a celebration in motion—soulful, uplifting, and effortlessly danceable.
The release follows the West Coast-inspired single “Heat” featuring Butter Bath and the dreamy “Nothing Is Forever” with PWNT, both of which showcase the eclectic sonic range of Velvet Seas. Collectively, these singles highlight the group’s ability to balance nostalgic flair with contemporary finesse, setting the stage for an album that promises to be both diverse and cohesive.
In support of the project, Kraak & Smaak will embark on an extensive European tour through late 2024 and into 2025. The trio’s celebrated live show and DJ sets will touch down in cities including Madrid, Barcelona, Budapest, and Brno, with a special milestone performance slated for Amsterdam Dance Event. On October 22, they will headline Melkweg with a full album release show—an eagerly awaited homecoming moment at one of electronic music’s most influential gatherings.

Their signature blend of disco, funk, house, and soul has taken them to some of the world’s biggest stages, from Coachella, SXSW, and Glastonbury to Sziget, along with appearances on late-night U.S. television.
