NYC-born, Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist, DJ, singer, producer, and live performer BIIANCO returns with “softcore_hardstyle,” a harder, more abrasive release that serves as the second single from their forthcoming project near_sight, released November 4 via Ultra Records.
Moving between techno, gabber, hardstyle, trance, and gang vocals, BIIANCO blends the melodic sensibilities of early-2000s trance with the raw physicality of underground dance music. “softcore_hardstyle” pushes that contrast into more aggressive territory, drawing from hard techno, gabber, industrial rave, and punk. Distorted kicks, pounding bass, abrasive synths, eerie melodies, and processed vocals create a sound that is simultaneously raw, hypnotic, and rebellious.
The track captures the intensity of BIIANCO’s live performances while maintaining the emotional depth and melodic instincts that have become central to their artistic identity. Rather than settling into a single genre, the release embraces the friction between contrasting sounds, creating a dancefloor experience that feels both confrontational and deeply personal.
That relationship between the human and the machine forms the foundation of near_sight, a connected body of work exploring technology’s influence on BIIANCO both creatively and personally. The project began with August’s “where_the_drummer_at?”, an acid-heavy combination of frenetic breakbeats, driving percussion, and live vocals. The track introduced the world of near_sight and established its central Machine vs. Human concept.
The project’s ideas extend beyond the studio and directly into BIIANCO’s live performances. Over recent months, the artist has brought the near_sight experience to stages around the world, including WORK Harder Warehouse in Los Angeles, Tomorrowland in Belgium, Boiler Room Festival in London, Solar Festival in Roermond, Lofi Amsterdam, and Cocoricò in Riccione.
Blurring the boundaries between DJing and live performance, BIIANCO incorporates vocals, live instrumentation, analog hardware, and modular synthesis into sets driven by physicality, improvisation, and experimentation. This approach reflects the broader themes of near_sight, where technological tools become part of an evolving relationship between machine-driven production and human expression.

The release follows a landmark year for BIIANCO, including a DJ Mag cover feature highlighting their creative evolution and upcoming body of work. Now based in Berlin, the artist continues to draw inspiration from the underground communities and musical cultures encountered throughout New York, Los Angeles, London, and Berlin.
Beyond their music, BIIANCO recently relaunched GAIA, their club series and growing platform for the experimental, high-intensity culture surrounding their sound. Together, GAIA and near_sight represent a deeper evolution of the artist’s creative vision, moving beyond traditional genre boundaries into the intersection of human expression, technology, physical performance, and rave culture.
