This fall, Dr. Shiver released his soulful, funky single “Something” featuring vocals by Kazi. The track was engineered to have a raw, authentic sound reminiscent of a live blues club, and now Dr. Shiver is bringing the vibe to life with the official live version of “Something.” The producer brought twelve of Italy‘s most talented musicians together to record the acoustic version of the track, which is complete with electric guitar riffs, piano melodies and groovy percussion. The tribe of musicians recorded a video performance of them rocking out to “Something” during a marathon 24-hour studio session, and the result is a nostalgic tribute to the music videos of rock’n’roll’s heyday. The live version of “Something” is out on Protocol Recordings, the dynamic and ever-evolving imprint founded by Nicky Romero.

Bruno Carlo Oggioni, better known as Dr. Shiver, is a man of many talents who wears many hats. His titles include producer, musician, sound engineer, DJ, label manager and record studio owner. Dr. Shiver‘s focus wasn’t always on electronic music, however: he began his career in the classical spectrum, playing piano and hammond, where he worked with legendary musicians like BB King, Pharrell Williams, Little Louie Vega and more before turning his sights to conquering the dance music scene. In 2015, he released his first official remix for “You Got the Love” with the Candi Staton‘s original vocal from 1986. Dr. Shiver‘s remix soared to the Number Five on the UK pop chart and was used as the soundtrack to the Tomorrowworld aftermovie. With support from the likes of Benny Bennassi, Tiesto, David Guetta, Don Diablo and more industry heavyweights, he will continue to make waves as a member of Protocol Recordings. This October, he performed at the Protocol showcase during the Amsterdam Dance Event to a packed house. With such a promising launch on Protocol, we can’t wait to see what is next for Dr. Shiver!
