Primavera Sound Barcelona Reveals Massive 2027 Lineup For 25th Anniversary

Primavera Sound Barcelona is celebrating a quarter century of musical history with one of its most ambitious lineups yet. The festival has revealed 151 artists and bands for its 25th edition, bringing together major names from across pop, rock, hip-hop, electronic music, experimental sounds, and the underground from June 2–6, 2027.

Since its beginnings in 2001, Primavera Sound has grown alongside the evolution of contemporary music while developing a distinct identity of its own. For its 25th anniversary, that history is reflected throughout a lineup that connects artists from different generations, scenes, and genres while continuing the festival’s tradition of giving emerging acts a place alongside established names.

Leading the 2027 lineup is Doechii, who will make her debut in Spain, alongside Phoebe Bridgers, Fontaines D.C., Massive Attack, Turnstile, The Chemical Brothers, Robyn, FKA twigs, Bad Gyal, and Hayley Williams.

The festival will also feature Lola Young, Skrillex, Ninajirachi, Pavement, ADÉLA, Prospa, Caroline Polachek, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Bleachers, Underworld, EsDeeKid, and ANOHNI, who will perform a special set featuring songs by her friend and collaborator Lou Reed.

The lineup continues to move freely between musical worlds. Contemporary pop will be represented by artists including Kim Petras, Tinashe, Shygirl, Theodora, and Hearts2Hearts, while heavier sounds arrive through Converge, Full of Hell, Castle Rat, and Prostitute.

Electronic music also occupies a major part of the festival, with BICEP, Joy Orbison, Ibrahim Alfa Jnr, and John Talabot among the artists representing the genre’s many directions. Vashti Bunyan, appearing at 81, will bring another distinctive perspective to the lineup, joining singer-songwriters such as Weyes Blood, Julien Baker, Rebe, Dove Ellis, Guillem Gisbert, and Bonnie “Prince” Billy.

That diversity is central to what makes Primavera Sound distinctive. The 2027 lineup places artists with seemingly distant musical identities next to one another, from the synth-pop of Metronomy to the doom metal of Warning, the deconstructed ambient sounds of Malibu, the Southern hip-hop of JT, the flamenco of Carlos de Jacoba & Ciutat, and the electronic music of Headache.

The festival will also continue its support of emerging artists and new sounds. Arca, underscores, Snow Strippers, and AKRIILA represent a new wave of digital post-pop, while Dinosaur Jr., DIIV, Santiago Motorizado, and Gilla Band connect the 2027 edition to sounds that helped shape the festival’s earlier years.

Among the artists returning to a world closely connected to the festival’s history is Bradford Cox, who will revisit the psych-folk material of his Atlas Sound project. After seven years largely away from the public eye, Cox’s appearance adds another chapter to the long relationship between Primavera Sound and its artists.

The festival’s more experimental side will also be well represented. Juana Molina, Lip Critic, Tirzah, Jesu, Angine de Poitrine, Pole, mori, TRISTÁN!, B0YG1RL, and Mark Fell & RP Boo are among the artists bringing sounds that exist outside conventional genre boundaries.

The 25th edition will be centered at Parc del Fòrum, with the main festival days taking place June 3–5. The celebration begins with a free opening day on Wednesday, June 2, before concluding June 6 with Primavera Bits.

The closing electronic event will feature an especially notable collaboration, bringing together Richie Hawtin, Four Tet, and Dixon for an eight-hour journey of alternating sets. According to the festival, it will mark the first time the three electronic pioneers have come together anywhere in the world for this type of performance.

Beyond Parc del Fòrum, additional venues throughout Barcelona will host a complementary program that has yet to be announced, extending the 25th anniversary celebration into a full week of music. Primavera Pro will also return from June 2–5 for its 18th edition, moving to DHub for a program of industry conferences and showcases.

For a festival that has spent 25 years building its own musical language, the 2027 lineup feels less like a look backward than another step forward. Primavera Sound Barcelona is using its anniversary to bring together the artists, sounds, and communities that have shaped its identity while continuing to make room for whatever comes next.
