The world’s first half-horse, half-human singer-songwriter, DJ, producer, spiritual guide, and proud country girl horsegiirL is heading back to the dancefloor with her new EP HARDCORE HEALING, arriving October 30 via horsegiirL/RCA Records. Alongside the announcement, she has released the project’s first single, “c*ntry girl rock,” featuring Dylan Brady, delivering an ecstatic, high-energy anthem for country girls everywhere.
The forthcoming EP follows horsegiirL’s acclaimed debut album NATURE IS HEALING, but takes its message of connection and transformation into a more intense club environment. Rooted in hardcore, happy hardcore, and early European rave culture, HARDCORE HEALING explores the idea that healing does not always have to mean slowing down. Sometimes it can come through movement, rage, joy, release, and collective catharsis.
“I really wanted to do a puzzle piece that completes the album and can sit more in the club space,” says horsegiirL. “It still has the hopeful, euphoric energy of the album, but translated into a dancefloor anthem record.”
For horsegiirL, the meaning of hardcore extends beyond its speed and intensity. The genre also represents a deep emotional connection to something, making it a natural fit alongside the concept of healing.
“Hardcore is a term that’s quite multifaceted,” she explains. “It’s intense music, but it’s also a profound love, loyalty, and appreciation for something. Paired with healing, these two things seem opposite at first, but they actually belong together.”

Lead single “c*ntry girl rock” puts that idea into practice. Created with producer Dylan Brady, the track turns horsegiirL’s playful perspective into a larger-than-life rave anthem celebrating country girls.
“I wanted to make a song that’s an anthem for all the country girls,” she says. “There is a lot of city girl music and not enough country girl music.”
The EP continues horsegiirL’s exploration of the less peaceful side of personal transformation. While NATURE IS HEALING centered on reconnection, reflection, and the natural world, HARDCORE HEALING embraces anger and intensity as part of the same process.
“Part of healing is embracing anger and rage and releasing that in a productive way,” she explains. “We aren’t always calm, collected, zen beings. Nature isn’t either. The ocean can become wild and stormy before returning to calm. We need that duality.”
That philosophy connects directly to the rave influences behind the project. horsegiirL draws inspiration from the utopian spirit of 1990s and early-2000s European rave culture, particularly an era associated with colorful fashion, communal dancefloors, and the belief that music could create spaces for freedom and connection.
“It’s inspired by the era of Love Parade and what felt like the age of ecstasy,” she says. “People dressed in colorful outfits, and it was really about love, connecting, and dreaming up a better world.”
HARDCORE HEALING arrives only months after horsegiirL’s debut album NATURE IS HEALING, a 15-track project that used dance music as a vehicle for connection, ecological awareness, and collective awakening. The album featured collaborators including A.G. Cook, Casey MQ, Nomak, Margo XS, Elof Loelv, FREE Jimi, Suena, and Luvhunter, blending euphoric dance-pop, hard club music, balearic grooves, and new-age experimentation.
Since the album’s release, horsegiirL has continued expanding her increasingly unconventional musical universe with appearances at Coachella, Lollapalooza South America, Lollapalooza Chicago, New York Fashion Week, Spotify’s Best New Artist celebration, and Cultured Magazine’s CULT100.
This fall, she will bring the NATURE IS HEALING live experience across North America and Europe, including headline performances at Terminal 5 in New York, History in Toronto, O2 Academy Brixton in London, and Huxleys in Berlin. She also recently opened for Robyn at The Forum in Los Angeles before returning to the state for Portola Festival in San Francisco.

With HARDCORE HEALING, horsegiirL is taking the next step in her ongoing exploration of what dance music can offer. The message may still be about healing, but this time the path there runs through pounding beats, collective release, and the freedom of the dancefloor.
For horsegiirL, the Year of the Horse is far from over. The healing continues.
