After a brief hiatus, Detroit independent House music label Sampled Detroit is returning with a six-track collection of remixes from label founder Chuck Daniels. Bringing together some of the producer and DJ’s most celebrated reworks, The Remixes revisits defining moments from Daniels’ catalogue while giving a new generation of DJs and House music fans another chance to experience his dance floor-focused productions.

The collection spans remixes of Andy Toth & Billy Love, Jr Jr, Jake Childs & Laura Frey, Lupe, Evan Rhodes featuring Clara Grun, and Johnny Fiasco, offering a snapshot of Daniels’ signature approach to House music. Soulful musicality, driving grooves, and timeless club sensibilities run throughout the six tracks, reflecting an artist whose work has consistently connected the emotional side of House with the energy of the dance floor.

At the heart of the release is Daniels’ acclaimed remix of Andy Toth & Billy Love’s “Thrillseekers,” which returns in a newly remastered edition. Originally released through Seth Troxler’s Play It Say It, the remix earned support from influential DJs including Eats Everything and Skream before becoming a fixture on Ibiza dance floors. The production was also recognized among Spin Magazine’s Top 40 Dance Tracks of All Time, cementing its place among the standout releases of Daniels’ career.

Now remastered for the Sampled Detroit relaunch, “Thrillseekers” serves as the collection’s centerpiece, connecting the label’s history with its renewed direction.

“Bringing people together has always been at the heart of everything I do, whether that’s through music or my other passion, food,” says Chuck Daniels. “Relaunching Sampled Detroit feels like the right time to revisit some of these remixes, give them the treatment they deserve and make them available again for a new generation of DJs and fans.”

Founded by Chuck Daniels, the Detroit producer, DJ, and label owner, Sampled Detroit has built its reputation around authentic underground House music and a commitment to club-focused releases. Its return is more than simply the revival of an independent label; it marks a renewed effort to preserve influential music while continuing to champion artists and productions built for the dance floor.

That philosophy is deeply connected to Daniels’ own career. For more than two decades, he has been an important presence within Detroit’s electronic music community, collaborating with and earning the respect of pioneering figures including Kevin Saunderson, Carl Craig, and Derrick May. His productions and remixes have appeared on influential labels such as Defected, Planet E, Classic, Ministry of Sound, KMS, Yoruba, and Warner Brothers, establishing a sound that moves naturally between House and Techno while remaining rooted in Detroit’s rich musical heritage.

Daniels’ influence also extends well beyond the studio. Through Sampled, his long-running Movement Festival afterparty, he has helped shape Detroit’s House music culture for more than 25 years. What began as a local gathering has grown into an internationally recognized event brand, continuing Daniels’ mission of bringing artists and fans together around the music.

That legacy now extends beyond Detroit, with the next Sampled event scheduled for Saturday, August 8 at crobar in Cleveland, Ohio. The lineup features Harry Romero, Mark Farina, DJ Heather, Chuck Daniels, and Delish b2b Andre Leone, once again putting the focus on House music’s enduring ability to connect generations and communities on the dance floor.

With The Remixes, Chuck Daniels and Sampled Detroit are looking backward without becoming stuck in the past. By remastering six sought-after productions and bringing them back into circulation, the label is preserving pieces of its history while laying the groundwork for its next chapter — one still driven by quality House music, underground culture, and the communal energy of the club.
