Acclaimed family music creator Doctor Noize has released his heartfelt new single, “Some People See, But I Don’t,” in recognition of Disability Awareness Month. The uplifting track serves as the final preview of his forthcoming album, Positive Energy! (The Music of Doctor Noize), arriving this August.

Inspired by his wife, Janette Cullinan, the song offers a deeply personal celebration of resilience, determination, and optimism. Rather than focusing on the challenges of blindness, “Some People See, But I Don’t” highlights Janette’s unwavering confidence, intelligence, and sense of purpose, encouraging listeners to embrace the unique perspectives that make every individual extraordinary.

Driven by vibrant funk-infused pop production, the single transforms Janette’s life experiences into an empowering anthem that celebrates strength, joy, and self-belief. The recording features contributions from several acclaimed musicians, including GRAMMY-nominated Quartet San Francisco violinist Jeremy Cohen, Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra founder Art Bouton on tenor saxophone, a dynamic horn section, bassist Isaac Moore, and performances from both Doctor Noize and Janette herself.

Accompanying the release is an inclusive music video directed by the couple’s daughter, Sidney Cullinan, which shines a spotlight on individuals who overcome adversity while living authentically and confidently. Reflecting the project’s commitment to accessibility, the video includes both closed captions for deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers and audio descriptions for blind audiences.

Beyond his work as Doctor Noize, Cory Cullinan has built an impressive career as a songwriter, composer, producer, educator, and multimedia creator. A graduate of Stanford University with a Master of Recording Arts, he has spent decades combining music with education, creating engaging projects that introduce audiences of all ages to subjects including music theory, language, leadership, sustainability, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

His acclaimed live performances showcase his talents as a one-man band, using live looping and multiple instruments to create interactive musical experiences for audiences nationwide. His work has ranged from intimate acoustic performances and educational workshops to full orchestral productions, including his celebrated symphonic work Phineas McBoof Crashes the Symphony, which introduces young audiences to orchestral music through storytelling and performance.

Outside of children’s entertainment, Cullinan is also an accomplished composer and producer for adult audiences, an avant-garde electronic musician, founder of Reach Studios, author of the Noizeletter, and an advocate for arts education and community leadership. His extensive service includes leadership roles with organizations such as the Recording Academy, the Children’s Music Network, the Stanford Alumni in Sustainability Climate Action Forum, and Christian Youth Theater, while also directing Stanford University’s summer Recording Arts program and serving as Chair of the Pikes Peak State College Recording Arts Technology Program Advisory Board.

Throughout his career, Doctor Noize has remained committed to using music as a vehicle for creativity, curiosity, compassion, and inclusion. With “Some People See, But I Don’t,” he delivers one of his most personal releases to date—an inspiring tribute to resilience that encourages listeners to recognize strength not in limitations, but in the perspectives that make every person unique.

“Some People See, But I Don’t” is available now, with Positive Energy! (The Music of Doctor Noize) set for release this August.
