Brooklyn producer Westend returns with his latest single, “Feels Better,” available now via his independent imprint, Trace Amounts. Following the success of his Experts Only release, “The Ceiling,” the tech-house standout delivers another high-energy anthem inspired by the electric atmosphere of a New York summer.
Built around driving house grooves, uplifting filtered synths, and infectious vocal hooks, “Feels Better” channels the excitement and optimism that swept through the city during the New York Knicks’ memorable playoff run. The result is a feel-good club record designed to capture the shared energy of packed dancefloors and long summer nights.
“I made ‘Feels Better’ in the middle of the Knicks championship run, when you could feel the whole city floating,” says Westend. “That joy was everywhere, on the trains, in the bodegas, on the courts, and I wanted a record that carried it. I leaned into that classic chopped sample sound I grew up on, the Daft Punk filter house stuff, and chased the most feel-good version of it I could. It’s built to hit at shows and feel like summer in New York.”
The single also continues the evolution of Trace Amounts, the label Westend launched as a creative home for his own music while spotlighting groove-driven house productions that emphasize personality, originality, and dancefloor energy. Since its debut, the imprint has become an extension of his artistic vision, allowing him to explore sounds beyond traditional label expectations.
Since breaking onto the scene in 2016, Westend has become one of house music’s most consistent hitmakers. His catalog features collaborations with John Summit, HUGEL, ACRAZE, and SIDEPIECE, while his music has appeared on respected labels including Toolroom, Catch & Release, Solotoko, and Dirtybird. Away from the studio, he has also helped mentor the next generation of producers through Kick & Bass, further establishing his influence within the electronic music community.
“Feels Better” arrives during another landmark year for the Brooklyn artist. Following standout performances at Day Trip and Electric Forest, Westend is preparing for his highly anticipated Lollapalooza debut next month, continuing the momentum behind one of the busiest chapters of his career.
With its uplifting energy, nostalgic filter-house influences, and undeniable groove, “Feels Better” showcases Westend at his most infectious, delivering a summer-ready house anthem that celebrates both his hometown and the communal spirit that defines dance music.
