Korean-American producer yetep marks the beginning of a bold new creative era with the release of “Hate It When It’s You” featuring Brooklyn-based vocalist Trella, out now via Lost In Dreams Records. Serving as the first single from his forthcoming body of work, the track offers a raw, genre-blending introduction to a more vulnerable and expansive sound.
“Hate It When It’s You” effortlessly melds melodic house with echoes of UK garage, channeling emotional tension through gently layered textures and shimmering production. Trella’s soft, haunting vocals explore the hesitation of falling in love when logic says not to—but the heart insists otherwise. The track evolves from delicate piano chords and pitch-shifted harmonies into a fuzzed-out melodic bass finale, delivering a cathartic payoff that underscores the track’s emotional weight.
“This song is about being certain that nothing will work out—until you meet someone who makes you question everything,” explains yetep. “I wanted this to lead the album because it captures that moment of emotional surrender. After remixing Dabin’s ‘Worlds Away’ featuring Trella, I knew I had to collaborate with her directly.”
This single marks yetep’s first official team-up with Trella, following his remix of her Dabin-assisted release. It also signals a more refined, personal direction for the Los Angeles-based producer, known for blending emotionally charged storytelling with genre-fluid electronic sounds.
