Following the rollout of his lead single in May, yetep is set to release his debut full-length project, ÿ, on February 27 via Lost In Dreams. The album, built across a series of pre-released singles, showcases yetep’s evolution as both an artist and a community-minded force in electronic music. With a blend of melodic bass, future bass, and emotive EDM, ÿ captures the energy, vulnerability, and human connection that have defined yetep’s live shows and global fanbase.
Rather than sticking to a strict sonic blueprint, ÿ embraces curiosity and freedom. Each track exists in its own universe, yet together they tell the story of yetep’s musical journey—from the open-format mixes on SoundCloud and Tumblr that first sparked his passion to his current genre-defying productions.
“When I first started writing this album, I wanted it to feel open format,” yetep explains. “I began my music career posting mixes of whatever I loved, without any genre rules. That freedom is what made me fall in love with music. With ÿ, I wanted to capture that same energy—chaotic, genreless, and full of discovery. There’s something on this album for everyone, and that’s what makes it special.”
Community has always been at the heart of yetep’s work, and this ethos runs through ÿ. His charitable initiative, Common Unitÿ, supports homeless youth and promotes mental health awareness, reflecting the same spirit of connection that fuels the album.
“This project came together over time and mirrors where I am musically and personally,” yetep says. “Rather than forcing a concept, I let the album develop naturally. Each track stands on its own, but together they reflect the freedom, curiosity, and honesty that inspired me to create. At its core, it’s about connection—leaving space for listeners to take away what the music means to them.”
Originally from Seoul, Korea, and now based in Los Angeles, yetep has steadily risen as a community-focused DJ and producer. His monthly SoundCloud mix series earned him a global following, and his genre-blending originals have gained support from Seven Lions, Dabin, and Adventure Club. He has released music on influential labels including Lost In Dreams, Ophelia, and Monstercat.
ÿ marks yetep’s most expansive and personal statement to date—a record that stretches artistic boundaries while staying grounded in the values of openness, curiosity, and connection that have shaped his career.
