Cold Blue – ‘Winter’

Cold… Blue… ‘Winter’… Not for nothing, are you seeing the first official album assembly from Cold Blue (Tobias Schuh) arriving in — of all months — November. To say that the release is a clear-cut celebration of the season at hand however, would be to miss his nuance. Cold Blue’s work is a soundtrack/companion-piece, but perhaps not in the way you’d first imagine. It’s been created more as a 360 degree angle of winter. One that audibly and aesthetically resonates its clement elements but isn’t averse to subverting, digging deeper and touching on its other aspects.

Paul van Dyk x Elated – ‘Parallel Dimension’

For the ‘Parallel Dimension’, Paul van Dyk has been joined at the mixing desk by a producer who may be a new name to some, Elated. With a no-prisoners tempo, hallmark PvD bass, from-within chords, awww-inspiring sub-melodies and kiss-the-sky mainline, ‘Parallel Dimension’s got the lot.

On the flipside, ‘When U Clackin’ is an energetic, bouncy and most importantly, fun romp through the kind of bass-led house which helped cement Sacha Robotti’s name.
