WHIPPED CREAM returns with her latest single “2 u,” released March 19 as the next preview of her forthcoming debut album HOME WAS ALWAYS ME, arriving April 30 via Monstercat. Following the tone-setting “it’s time to go home” and the high-energy “stranger,” the new track continues to build anticipation around a project that signals a defining moment in her career.

Built around a nostalgic nod to Tamia’s classic “So Into You,” “2 u” blends ‘90s R&B textures with forward-thinking electronic production. The result is a dynamic balance of melancholy and euphoria, where emotive vocals and intricate sound design reflect WHIPPED CREAM’s signature ability to tell layered, emotionally driven stories within dance music.

“‘2 u’ is one of my personal favorites on the entire album. I’ve been playing it out for months and every time it lights up a room,” she shares. “It’s a song that makes people close their eyes and smile without knowing why. It’s pure feeling, the kind of record that reminds you why dance music exists at all.”

Known offstage as Caroline Cecil, the Canadian artist has built a reputation for blending cinematic production with deeply expressive songwriting. Her previous releases—including Careline (2025), is this real? (2024), Someone You Can Count On (2023), and Who Is Whipped Cream? (2020)—have showcased her evolving range across house and techno, positioning her as a distinctive voice in the electronic space.

With HOME WAS ALWAYS ME, WHIPPED CREAM expands that vision into a full-length statement. The album leans into cinematic soundscapes while exploring raw, universal themes tied to identity, growth, and emotional resilience. Beneath its surface-level strength, the project reveals a deeper layer of vulnerability, anchored in personal truth and self-acceptance.

Drawing on the symbolism of Eve, often framed as a figure of transgression, WHIPPED CREAM reimagines her as an archetype of honesty and self-liberation. The album reframes this narrative to emphasize the importance of staying true to oneself, even in the face of external judgment.

“People say ‘be yourself,’ but the moment you do, they project onto you. This album is about choosing yourself anyway,” she explains, describing the project as “a modern retelling of an ancient idea that people are not defined by the stories written about them, but by the truth they choose to live.”

With “2 u,” WHIPPED CREAM offers another compelling glimpse into HOME WAS ALWAYS ME, setting the stage for a debut album that aims to resonate far beyond the dancefloor.
