West African Afro-House Innovator AMÉMÉ Debuts on BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix Series

by Press Release

AMÉMÉ, a pioneering force in West African Afro-House, has made his highly anticipated debut on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1 Dance’s acclaimed Essential Mix series. Originally broadcast on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1 Dance, AMÉMÉ’s Essential Mix is now available to stream on-demand via BBC Sounds.

Hosted by Pete Tong, the Essential Mix series is a prestigious platform that allows key figures in dance and electronic music to present their distinct musical identity through a carefully curated 120-minute mix.

AMÉMÉ’s debut in the Essential Mix series showcases the full scope of his signature “AMÉMÉ House” sound, further solidifying his influence as a leading figure in African-influenced house music.

This milestone follows a string of recent successes for AMÉMÉ, including his two-track release “Atalakou / Torero” on Chris Lake’s Black Book Recordings, the track “NEVER” on Gorgon City’s REALM Records, his contribution to Defected’s new imprint with “Wild Animal,” and the Latin-inspired collaboration “Ando High” with Tom & Collins on Insomniac Records.

AMÉMÉ’s signature One Tribe event series continues to gain traction globally, with recent relaunches at fabric London, a quarterly residency at Shelter in Amsterdam, and appearances in Ibiza and Egypt’s Cubix. A special homecoming performance is scheduled for New York’s House of Yes on September 14th.

As part of a packed summer schedule, AMÉMÉ is set to appear at top festivals like Awakenings, Tomorrowland Belgium, Sonus, and Audio Obscura. He will also maintain his presence in Ibiza with performances at Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream, Jamie Jones’ Paradise, Bedouin’s Saga, and Rumours.
