Wavelength Music has revealed the complete lineup for the Wavelength Music Festival + Conference 2026 (WMFC26), taking place March 19–20 at Lula Lounge, Toronto. Running from 9 AM to 4 PM on both days, this marks the first dedicated two-day conference in Wavelength’s 25-year history, featuring talks, panels, workshops, and in-depth conversations aimed at supporting independent music in Canada and beyond.
The conference addresses both challenges and opportunities facing today’s music industry. Artists face financial precarity, grassroots venues are under threat, and global streaming dynamics continue to reshape careers. Yet Wavelength highlights optimism, with unsigned artists reaching global audiences from home studios and Toronto emerging as a hub for diverse new talent. “We have work to do,” the organisation says, “and this conference is where that work begins.”
Building on its research projects like the nationally recognised Reimagining Music Venues report, WMFC26 emphasizes the independent live music sector, bringing together local and international voices for forward-looking discussions. Jonathan Bunce (aka Jonny Dovercourt), Artistic and Executive Director of Wavelength, notes, “Wavelength grew out of the ‘think globally, act locally’ ethos of the ’90s, and this lineup still embodies that a quarter-century later.”
The conference runs alongside the full festival, March 19–21, across Lula Lounge, Wavelength @ St. Anne’s, The Baby G, The Garrison, InterAccess, and the Art Gallery of Ontario, featuring 30+ live acts including Melissa Auf der Maur, Alex Cameron, Ada Lea, Bibi Club, Ribbon Skirt, Bad Waitress, Maria Somerville, and Sook-Yin Lee. Cross-border collaboration is a focus this year, highlighted by Auf der Maur’s co-presented events with Basilica Hudson.
The Wavelength Music Conference is open to all. Conference passes and All Access festival passes are available now. Full schedule, speakers, and festival details can be found at wavelengthmusic.ca/festival-event/wavelength-music-conference.
