VNSSA and Benson are turning up the heat with their electrifying new single “Shiny Disco Balls,” set to drop May 23 on Walker & Royce’s boundary-pushing label Rules Don’t Apply. With early support from the likes of Dom Dolla, Chris Lake, Tiesto, SIDEPIECE, Gorgon City, Carl Craig, and TOKiMONSTA, this high-voltage collaboration blends VNSSA’s percussive bite with Benson’s signature cheek and club sensibility. Speaking on the track, VNSSA shares, “Benson and I barely knew each other before our session, but he ate nearly an entire jar of Vegemite and I knew he was a savage. I had the ‘Shiny Disco Balls’ vocal lying around and just threw it in to fill space—suddenly everything clicked. Once Walker & Royce started playing it in every set, I knew it was something special.”
Benson adds, “I’ve always been a fan of VNSSA, and once we got in the studio, we connected immediately. The original version of this track was a huge influence on me, so putting our spin on it felt surreal. We’re excited for people to hear it.”
For VNSSA, the release follows a monumental year marked by Coachella’s Do LaB stage appearance as part of Sara Landry’s Blood Oath—a groundbreaking, all-female techno collective—and a streak of standout releases on Three Six Zero Recordings.
