¡Viva La Voom! When 5,000 Bassheads Ruin Your Least Favorite Aunt’s Mexican Adventure!

“Goddamnit, Karen.  Can you just let the kids have fun?  Just this once, can we go on vacation without your haircut demanding to speak to the manager?  Any amount of time we can spend together, without you screaming into the void (in the form of strongly worded Yelp reviews) about all about the indignities you’ve been forced to suffer at the hands of the most malicious of minimum wage employees, seems borrowed.  To be honest, those unwashed hippies you’re whining about seem like they know how to have a good time.  In fact, if you need me, I’ll be over there telling that group of sexually ambiguous scarf wearers all about how cocaine was better in our day!” – Karen’s Husband on Bassheads at Deja Voom in Riviera Maya, Mexico

Actual Review from the Resort Hosting Deja Voom

So, as should have been anticipated the second Deja Voom was announced, some woman is pissed off that a bunch of young people are enjoying their lives at the same time as her.  Apparently, nobody told Martha that the resort would be trashed with cups AND glittah.

Anybody who has worked in a restaurant or hotel for more than 20 minutes already has a perfect image in their head of this lady. We can only assume her name is something along the lines of Susan or Linda and she most definitely wants to speak to a manager.

Don’t sweat it too hard, Riviera Maya. Based on the condescending tone of this review she left for you (and the incredibly ironic lack of attention paid to grammar), I can guarantee with 99.9999% certainty that she would have found something else to complain to her 87 Facebook friends about.

Unfortunately for Aunt Patty, her words of disdain did nothing but make people like me a little extra upset that they are absent from Bassnectar‘s most ambitious self curated event to date.  Aside from 3 performances from the man himself, Deja Voom boasts a jaw-dropping lineup. Featuring the likes of Luzcid, Conrank, Shlump, Digital Ethos and many more as support, this self-contained wookfest promises to sear itself into the memories of all who are present for it, including Cindy (albeit against her will).
