Virginia-born producer JAWNS makes his return to NIGHTMODE with “Escape”, a charged electro house single that highlights his signature analog sensibilities. Out October 31st, the release marks his second outing on the label, following his 2021 debut “Detonator”—an incendiary track that earned support from Zeds Dead, Valentino Khan, NGHTMRE & SLANDER, Juelz, and outlets including This Song Is Sick, Trap City, and Festival Season.
Built around a looping, pitched-up vocal hook, “Escape” balances grit and melody with crunching electro synths, acid-laced basslines, and flickering modular flourishes. The track builds into a dark, hypnotic groove that feels simultaneously mechanical and deliberate, nodding to classic complextro while remaining firmly forward-thinking.
Rooted in Richmond’s underground scene, JAWNS has spent years fusing trap, bass, and club influences into a sound uniquely his own. Past collaborations with RL Grime, Party Favor, and Habstrakt showcase his versatility and precision-driven production style—heavy, impactful, and purposeful.
“Escape” continues JAWNS’ evolution within NIGHTMODE’s boundary-pushing orbit. Dropping just ahead of his performance at Escape Halloween, the track reflects both a return and a progression—another chapter from an artist who thrives on tension, texture, and the thrill of the unexpected.
Reflecting on the track, JAWNS shares: “This song is basically the product of a year-long creative crashout. It’s been a little tough finding inspiration from the music around me within dance music, so I felt I should just take a moment to look back on experiences and music that first got me into dance music. Super happy with what came from it and hope y’all enjoy!”
JAWNS’ new single “Escape” is available now on all platforms via NIGHTMODE.
