Two of bass music’s most fearless innovators, VARI and MALIXE, join forces on “LOST,” arriving December 5th via Gud Vibrations. The single fuses trap and wave influences, delivering a meticulously engineered yet volatile soundscape that embodies both artists’ experimental instincts.
Opening with serrated synth stabs and tightly wound percussion, “LOST” plunges into jagged riffs, shifting textures, and pitch-warped leads, layered atop shadowy arpeggios and acidic bursts that slice through the low end. The result is a track that feels both unstable and deliberate—perfectly balancing festival-scale impact with warehouse-club intensity.
VARI shares, “‘LOST’ has been a long time coming. Combining MALIXE’s dark, distorted vision with my ethereal, rave-infused aesthetic created a track that’s massive enough for a festival system yet dark enough for an underground warehouse.”
For VARI, the release continues a prolific run with Gud Vibrations, following standout tracks like “Mind,” supported by outlets including UFO Network, Canadian Ravers, and FrontView Magazine. His live highlights include EDC Las Vegas, Starbase Music Festival, and Avalon Hollywood, with support from Illenium, Alison Wonderland, RL Grime, Joyryde, and NGHTMRE & SLANDER.
MALIXE has built a reputation for unpredictability, blending trap, drum & bass, UK garage, and techno. Collaborations with Hex Cougar, Oddly Godly, Jade Sierra, and BRVMES have earned co-signs from RL Grime, Rezz, Alison Wonderland, and IMANU. On the live circuit, he’s become a fixture at Countdown NYE, EDC Las Vegas, and Nocturnal Wonderland.
With “LOST,” VARI and MALIXE converge at the crossroads of their styles, delivering jagged, glitch-heavy sonics crafted to challenge speakers and captivate listeners alike.
VARI and MALIXE’s “LOST” is available now on all platforms via Gud Vibrations.
