Ulrika Spacek have unveiled their highly anticipated new album, EXPO, set for release on February 6, 2026 via Full Time Hobby. Alongside the announcement, the band revealed a run of 2026 North American headline dates, beginning in late March and concluding in Los Angeles in April. Known for their formidable live performances, the band has already built a devoted following, as seen in last year’s acclaimed KEXP session. Tickets go on sale Friday, December 5th at 12pm local time.
The lead single, “Build a Box Then Break It,” released last month, acts as a mission statement for the album, expanding Ulrika Spacek’s art-rock sound into a liminal space between analogue and electronic. The track reflects the fractured nature of modern experience, seen not through direct observation but through screens. The second single, “Square Root of None,” was written during a biting Stockholm winter and captures the rare moments when the band could gather in the same room to create collaboratively.
Ulrika Spacek has always functioned as a collective, blending the individual talents of experimental physicists, graphic designers, and music producers into a cohesive musical vision. The band’s existence is inseparable from their community, seen in initiatives such as Oysterland, their self-curated platform for multi-disciplinary artists, and their work at Total Refreshment Centre, connecting the dots between jazz, experimental music, and broader artistic practice. Collaborations with acts such as Crack Cloud further demonstrate their commitment to collective creation.

Unlike previous works, which often looked inward, EXPO holds a mirror to the world, reflecting its fractured and digitized realities. Songs were influenced by the band’s experiences in America while on tour and personal milestones, such as Rhys awaiting the birth of his daughter and contemplating the future she would inherit. The album thrives in the space between art-rock and electronic music, embracing both human warmth and digital isolation.
The band describes EXPO as a sonic collage elevated to a new level. They developed their own sound bank and essentially sampled themselves, layering digital drums over acoustic ones to create a doppelgänger effect—music that feels born from the ether yet rooted in the tangible world. The result is a record where the organic and digital coexist, delivering ecstatic, danceable moments while retaining the band’s signature experimental edge.
EXPO exemplifies Ulrika Spacek’s collaborative ethos: a work of shared vision and resistance, a testament to the power of community in an increasingly inhospitable world. The band states, “We make decisions for the greater good, and we are greater than the sum of our parts.”
Tickets for Ulrika Spacek’s 2026 North American tour are available starting December 5, 2025.
