Now that the phase 2 lineup announcement of Ubbi Dubbi Festival has had time to settle, the Fresh Music Freaks gang thought it’d be proper for me to give the run down on the top five House and Techno artists that will get you WET. Back again in Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas Metro, Ubbi Dubbi is set to bring some much needed outdoor grooves to the Lone Star State. Despite the downpour of talent, we hope this year is devoid of rain and closures. Without further adieu, here are some fun words and a few tracks to whet your whistle until Ubbi Dubbi is upon us.
The Five
ARDALAN – With roots in the beginning of Dirtybird and a repertoire work with percussion so intricate one might question reality, Ardalan is by far my most anticipated artist at Ubbi Dubbi this year. Whether you know him as “Thunderdad” or “Mr.Good”, I can rest easy knowing Ardy’s brand of House and Techno will leave you awestruck. Don’t miss it!
Tiga – Veteran numero uno on my list, Tiga has been throwing banging House and Techno parties since the mid to late 90’s, and you can be assured his time in the game has proven to season his mixing, productions, and creative endeavors. With existential bangers like “Mind Dimension 2“, his record label Turbo Recordings, and even his very own radio show “Last Party On Earth” (with guests Annie Mac, Pete Tong, and Carl Cox), Tiga can only impress as you descend into the world of Ubbi Dubbi.
Green Velvet – The man who goes by many names, the myth, the legend, it’s Green Velvet and he’s more than casually sure to make the lot stomp around and shake the ground. Veteran numero dos on my list of artists that will make you WET is a name all Electronic Dance Music fanatics should have on their radar. No matter if it’s time for the “Percolator”, you need to check your “Voicemail”, or your third eye is knocking and you see all the “Sheeple”, Green Velvet is bound to take you on a House and Techno trip all night long.
Destructo – The world of Ubbi Dubbi ushers in the bonafide “Renegade” Master of our time, Destructo. Curator and commander of Friendship and label boss of AMF, our man Destructo will have you “Catchin plays””4 Real”. “Where the bartender? Tell him to bring more liquor.” You heard it here first the AMF Takeover will be the best “Party Up” for grabs during all of Ubbi Dubbi 2020.
Justin Jay – From the dorm room to the main stage, Justin Jay is a testament to taking your passions and growing them into a lifestyle and career with hard work. With releases ranging from calm, sing-song vibes like “Time” to rave ready bangers like “Don’t Trip” via his 90’s focused alias FASTBOI88, Justin has curated quite the discog when it comes to genre selection. Leave your “Indecision” at home, we can expect Justin to bring the House and Techno heat. Fingers crossed that heat will keep the skies and festival grounds dry on our “Fantastic Voyage” into Ubbi Dubbi.
