Over the past week, three extremely notable trance tracks were released! Each track touches upon a different sound. That’s what trance is about though; the journey and the evolution of the sound. Take a listen to these three records and you’ll see what I mean.
Luke Bond – ‘Maelstrom’
To say that
Dropping fans off from the previous sonic firestorm into the next, Luke Bond again shows why he’s one of trance’s hottest producers of the moment. Churning out tempestuous basslines, swirling melodies and thrilling harmonies with undeniable ease, the U.K. studio magician sucks fans from all over the world into this musical ‘Maelstrom’ he has so expertly designed. It’s tracks like this and all of his prior releases that are causing people from all over the world to fall head over heels in love with the genre.
Giuseppe Ottaviani – 8K
Appetites whetted? Anticipation built? Expectations in high orbit!? Thought so! Topping charts and dropping bass, ‘Panama’ & ‘Tranceland’ – Giuseppe Ottaviani’s 2019 album vanguards – have offered insights most enticing into what the Italian has in store with ‘Evolver’ — his fourth longplayer.
And kicking that drumbeat up another gear, here comes its next single! You can keep your fours, fives, sixes & sevens – Giuseppe’s turned the definition straight up to eight with his born-to-thrill ‘8K’! Using scudding drum patterns, offbeat bass and pulse quickening tempo, in no-nonsense fashion Giuseppe goes straight for the primetime jugular. Foundations laid, he brings in evocatively lifting, flurrying sub-melodies, which are amplified through his exacting key changes. Spacily chiming harmonies and chord soar apply more celestial sequences to its theme, before its vibrant mainline begins to well from the drop. Giuseppe gives it its time to develop before finally opening up the filters and gating it up with a storm! You mind will take off to another dimension with this surefire future classic tune.
Mark Sherry – ‘Lightning Fires’ (feat. Christina Novelli)
With the ‘Confirm Humanity’ single shedding the first light on what Mark Sherry has up his sleeve on his incoming namesake LP (whilst naturally throwing down on floors globally!), the Scotsman flips its second ace today. The single introduces a vocal aspect to the album’s fusion, and one that comes from none other than Christina Novelli.
For its production, Mark wastes zero time in pouring on that old studio gasoline. Striking the match, he sets it off with storm-force drums, charged sub-riffs and vibrant bass pulsation, all lit by a primetime tempo. Christina’s calling vocal refrains fan the flames higher, before her song seizes the track’s centre-ground. Pure lyrical napalm, its wrought, touching, imploring and ultimately determined lyrics leave few emotions untouched. As the break reaches its peak, Mark picks up the baton to serve ‘Lighting Fires’ its inferno-like mainline, which leaves us absolutely floored by its overall power.
