Well guys, I wish I had better news for you. My friend Phil sent this over from Europe this morning. All you hopefuls that wished to end Covid with the festival of all festivals will be sadly dissapointed. Tomorrowland 2021 will most likely not be happening, barring a miracle.
Tomorrowland has been denied its license for 2021. It has been one hell of a year and a lot of ups and downs for the fans of the most prestigious electronic music festival in the world.
Tomorrowland had to cancel last year’s edition due to Covid-19, and then delayed the festival dates for the usual July dates to August and September of this year. (We should have known when Eric Prydz started booking shows in the U.S. on Tomorrowland dates). The date changes coincided with Creamfields, the other most popular European festival, leaving many fest-goers frustrated to pick between the two, or ASOT.
Now, it looks as if the nail has hit the coffin for this years edition. Reported in the early evening by Belgian newspaper Standaars, Tomorrowland was denied its license by the mayors of Boom and Rumst, the cities where the festival takes place.
An official statement is yet to come from Tomorrowland, but for reference, the article in Dutch can be found HERE.
