Globally acclaimed talents Tom & Collins and AMÉMÉ first crossed paths late last year to breathe life into their collaborative track, “Ando High,” a celebration of their diverse cultural influences released through Insomniac Records. The single brilliantly fuses Tom & Collins’ Latin flair with AMÉMÉ’s Afro house vibes. Now, the track is gaining new momentum with fresh reworks from Bora Uzer, Jesús Fernández, and a special VIP remix from the two powerhouse producers themselves.
Turkish producer Bora Uzer, a rising star in the underground scene and one of Pacha Ibiza’s newest residents, leads the charge with a deep minimal interpretation. His remix takes the track into darker club territory, utilizing sleazy synth oscillations, pulsating basslines, cowbell accents, wailing sirens, and pitched-down vocal chops to create a gritty, rolling club weapon.
Seville-based Jesús Fernández, known for his mastery of both Latin and Afro grooves, adds his own twist with a rework that strikes the perfect balance between the two genres. His remix features tumbling tribal drums, lively bongo fills, jungle sound effects, dark pad swells, and whistling tones, all contributing to a powerful four-on-the-floor rhythm.
Reflecting on his contribution, Jesús Fernández shared: “I’ve always loved “Ando High,” and I wanted to craft a version that embodies my Afro style. It was a pleasure working on this remix, and I’m grateful to Tom & Collins for their support and for making it an official release.”
Rounding off the remix package in style, Tom & Collins and AMÉMÉ reconnect to deliver a VIP version of “Ando High.” Stripping back the original’s melodic elements, the duo emphasizes their signature percussive style, infusing the track with swinging drum hits and a rich array of deep Afro sounds to complement the hypnotic vocal hook.
Since its debut in December, “Ando High” has surpassed 5 million streams, earning coverage from publications like Mixmag Latin America, C-Heads Magazine, CULTR, Earmilk, and EKM. The track has also garnered support from tastemakers and radio hosts, with plays on BBC Radio 1 by Jeremiah Asiamiah, Kiss FM UK by DJ S.K.T, and nods from industry heavyweights like Claptone, MK, Armin van Buuren, CID, and more.
