With weekend one of Electric Forest in the books, I can hardly contain my excitement for weekend two! As I began to make plans for this summer, I had no idea I would be heading to Electric Forest. While out one night at a local bar, I ran into a friend I haven’t seen in a while who 15 minutes later convinced me to attend weekend two! I believe some of the best adventures come from spontaneous decisions.

Camping for a festival is the last thing on my mind, I’m the type who expects a full sized bed, air conditioning and everything else a hotel has to offer. After hearing so many positive comments about this festival, I decided to just go for it, and plans were in motion. Electric Forest will be my very first camping festival, and I can’t wait for the full experience! Within a week a car was rented, and I was able to find a group of people also living in NYC to join us on this trip. Having new friends so ready to take me under their wing with past experience in the forest have made me feel so lucky putting a trip together super last minute. Taking a 12+ hour road trip with a group of people I barely know is what will make this a stimulating trip.

The thought of going to Electric Forest hypes me up on a crazy level because of how stellar the lineup is. We have the Mau5trap lineup on Sunday, so I finally get to see Blackgummy and Testpilot. One of my favorite most versatile djs – Chris Lake will definitely throw down a set to keep everyone moving. I actually hadn’t noticed how much techno and house is on this lineup until I decided to go. After hearing their new album “Head Over Heels”, I’m definitely excited to see Chromeo.
Electric forest will be the first camping festival for me. Since I’m a beginner I must depend on my crew to help set up the campsite and suggest what useful items to bring with me. With a brand new tent, let’s see how long this “10-minute set-up” is. Luckily, I was able to grab a bunch of equipment from close friends to borrow instead of throwing money on things I won’t use again for a long time. I know I’m not alone when I say festivals like this are what keep me happy. Sometimes we need a place to get away from our stressful reality. During Electric Forest I plan on meeting people I vibe with well, creating a positive experience for myself and others.
What are you most excited to experience at Electric Forest? Come to find me on my adventure at weekend two, and I will show you how the New York party kids do Forest! I’m stoked to find out for myself!
