Montreal icon Tiga makes his long-awaited return with his fourth studio album HOTLIFE, released April 17 via Turbo Recordings and Secret City Records. Arriving just days after his standout appearance at the Coachella Quasar Stage, the project signals a defining new chapter in his ever-evolving career—one framed as a pursuit of “Absolute Brain Freedom.”
The album builds on the momentum of previously released singles “ECSTACY SURROUNDS ME,” “SILK SCARF” featuring Fcukers, “HOT WIFE” with Boys Noize, and “FRICTION.” Across its 12 tracks, HOTLIFE finds Tiga at peak creative output, blending his signature wit with a high-impact, club-focused sound.
A global cast of collaborators underscores the album’s scope, including Matthew Dear, MRD, Gesloten Cirkel, Paranoid London, Maara, alongside Montreal talents Priori and Patrick Holland. The result is a record that channels kinetic, infectious energy—what Tiga describes as unleashing “dancefloor lightning” from the summit of his creative world.
“When I turn on the Catharsis Machine,” Tiga explains, “it don’t matter if you’re a rich man or a poor man, ’cause you’re about to be a free man…”
Behind the album lies a narrative of reinvention. Following a personal battle with a self-described neurological condition he dubbed “Vibe Fog,” Tiga faced a pivotal moment in his career—one that ultimately led to a full creative rebuild. “At a certain point, it was either buy the exoskeleton and cash out my Virgin Megastore stock, or rebuild Tiga City from the ground up,” he says, framing the journey with his characteristic surreal humor.
That process has culminated in what longtime observers describe as a heightened, almost otherworldly version of the artist—equal parts refined and unpredictable. Across HOTLIFE, that duality manifests in sharp decision-making, bold sonic choices, and a tightly constructed runtime.
“My yes/no response time to artistic choices is off the charts,” Tiga adds. “We took each second shaved off every creative decision and reinvested it into the album’s runtime. 12 songs. 60 minutes. Remarkable.”
With HOTLIFE, Tiga reasserts his place at the forefront of global electronic music—not by revisiting past formulas, but by pushing further into a world that feels entirely his own, where humor, intensity, and club culture collide in unmistakable fashion.
