New York City electronic duo The Knocks and Canadian electro-pop powerhouse Dragonette (Martina Sorbara) reunite today to release “Dreams”, the fourth single from their upcoming joint album Revelation, due out June 6th via Neon Gold Records / Futures / Virgin.
The track follows their shimmering string of previous collaborations — “Foolish Pleasure,” “Revelation,” and “The Hero” — once again blending infectious dance-pop melodies with polished electro-pop textures. With “Dreams,” they deliver a hazy, bittersweet groove that glows with nostalgic synthwork, seamlessly expanding the sonic world of the Revelation album era.
That world is anything but ordinary. This new creative chapter unfolds within a surreal, hyper-stylized 1980s-inspired corporate liminal space, crafted around the fictional entity Revelation Technologies. The entire campaign features a satirical take on the modern merging of consumer culture, art, and marketing — all fronted by none other than RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Aquaria, who serves as the project’s muse.
Pitched like a mock pharmaceutical campaign, Revelation Technologies teases new “products” like “Dreams” with cheeky corporate doublespeak:
“The opportunities keep coming and we don’t want anyone to miss out! Our corporate goal is your total satisfaction, and with our new product Dreams, launching on April 18th, we can promise satisfaction guaranteed. Don’t sleep on THIS Dream, click on the link sleepy head!”
Dragonette dives deep into the meaning behind the track:
“I don’t know why but I’ve always wanted to write a song about a sex dream. Dreams in general can be such an upside down adventure… it feels singularly personal and intimate because neither the subject nor your consciousness was present. It belongs to a different you, living in a different realm… For me, that’s why a song about sex dreams needs to feel mostly PG. No matter what happened with whom in that realm, we’re both innocent.”
Their last hit together, “Slow Song” (2022), earned a GRAMMY nomination, and with the upcoming album, they’re pushing creative boundaries once again — both sonically and conceptually.
Keep an eye on The Knocks, Dragonette, and Aquaria as the Revelation Technologies story continues to unfold in the lead-up to June 6th. The full album is available now for pre-save on all streaming platforms.
