One of the most empowering feelings for a girl obsessed with festival culture is to see powerful women making waves in a “said-to-be” male-dominated industry. Andrea Graham aka The Librarian is a role model for many women alike for many reasons. Firstly, not only is she a talented producer, but she is also a visionary. Secondly, Andrea is one of the co-founders of the number one boutique festival in North America, Bass Coast. It is without a doubt that The Librarian has become one of the most inspirational boss babes in the industry.
Andrea’s life has been a musical journey. It all began studying vocals, piano, and guitar. This passion for music was connected with her love for electronic music in the early 2000s. Over the years, Andrea has travelled the world spreading her unique yet moving bass music at festivals including Lightning In A Bottle, Coachella, Shambhala, Rainbow Serpent, and Symbiosis.
Andrea continues to take her passion for electronic music and art to the next level through Bass Coast, a world renown festival taking place in Merritt, British Columbia, Canada. Alongside Liz Thomson, fellow co-founder and close friend (who actually gave Andrea her alias, ‘The Librarian’), these two inspiring women have morphed Bass Coast into the distinctive entity it is today. Uniquely curated, Bass Coast is a feast for the senses. With top of the line stage design, immersive art displays, and a wide arrange of international and local artists, Bass Coast focuses on the expressive community it created through art and music. Undoubtedly, I am ecstatic to experience the magic this year from July 12th-15th, 2019.
