The Funk Hunters prepare for their TYPECAST Tour by bringing a remix of their original album to the US. This tour is sure to invite yet another year of achievement. First off, the tour takes them to Nevada City, CA tonight, Thursday 1/31. Just two days later, I’ll be catching them on Saturday night at the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles! Next on their list is Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, and many more. Their final performance is scheduled for February 17th in Indianapolis. Needless to say, from one music lover to another, you shouldn’t miss these guys!
After celebrating a win at the Western Canadian Music Awards 2018 as the Electronic/Dance Artist of the Year, The Funk Hunters reached number 1 on the Billboard Dance Club Chart. How did they do that? With an epic official remix of U2’s ‘Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way’. The pair has an upcoming remix album of their 2018 debut artist LP Typecast. The original LP features collaborations from Leo Napier (GRiZ / Gramatik), DiRTY RADiO, LIINKS, Paul Brenning, Dynamite MC, and Steven Beddall. One can only imagine who or what the remix will bring.
Hailing from Vancouver B.C., the Funk Hunters have created an unmistakable signature sound. They combine forward-thinking electronic dance music with old-school soul, funk, and hip-hop. This sound has awarded the pair over 600 performances in 16 countries, including major festivals such as Coachella, Burning Man, Osheaga, Shambhala, and Electric Forest. We here at Fresh Music Freaks cover many of those listed festivals and are can’t wait to run into them again. However, I hope to see some of you freaks out this Saturday at the Roxy Theater. Like I always recommend, get your tickets early.
