The Dare Unveils New Song “You’re Invited” and Announces Debut Album Release

Today, The Dare has released a new track titled “You’re Invited,” accompanied by a video directed by Jake Lazovick. This song is a part of his much-anticipated debut album, What’s Wrong With New ?, set to drop on September 6 under Republic Records. Fans can pre-save and pre-order physical copies, including vinyl and CD, starting today.

Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, and The Dare‘s new version of Charli’s track “Guess,” produced by The Dare, is poised to top the U.K. singles chart this week. The Dare also produced the original version, featured on the deluxe edition of Brat.

Previously, The Dare released “Perfume,” debuting last month with a video directed by Nick Harwood. His 2023 hit “Girls” is currently trending online, holding the #2 spot on the Spotify USA Viral 50 chart. The track “Good Time” will also be included in the upcoming album.

To celebrate his new music, The Dare will embark on his first headline tour across North America this fall, with nearly every date already sold out. The tour kicks off at New York’s Webster Hall on September 5, with additional stops in cities like Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. What’s Wrong With New York was recorded over the past year at The Dare’s home and studio in New York. The album features collaborations with notable songwriters and producers such as Dylan Brady (100 gecs), Emile Haynie (Lana Del Rey, FKA twigs, Dua Lipa), Romil Hemnani (Brockhampton), Chris Greatti (Yves Tumor, Yeule), and Isaac Eiger of Strange Ranger.

from opening for Charli XCX, The Dare performed at her Boiler Room in Ibiza and her Brat live shows in New York and Los Angeles, where he introduced a brand-new live set. In May, he also completed a special run of sold-out shows across the U.K. and Europe, including stops in London, Paris, Berlin, and appearances at festivals such as Primavera and Great Escape.

The Dare is the solo project of vocalist, songwriter, and producer Harrison Patrick Smith. He gained widespread acclaim with the release of his hit “Girls” and his highly praised The Sex . His dynamic live performances have sold out venues across North America and Europe, and his DJ sets, cultivated at his signature downtown Manhattan party Freakquencies, have been the soundtrack for events hosted by Gucci, Celine, and many others. He has shared the stage and collaborated with artists like Charli XCX, Yves Tumor, and Water From Your Eyes.
