Emerging electronic project Textbook Maneuver is set to release a reimagined version of his track “Adrenaline Slip”, accompanied by an immersive new video, on October 17, 2025, via his Life Science Records, LLC imprint. The original track, featured on his debut album Adrenaline Slip, has already garnered nearly 130,000 streams and steadily drawn the attention of the global IDM and experimental electronic community. Coverage in Magnetic Magazine, Illustrate Magazine, WWAM (We Write About Music), Music For All (Brazil), and Good Music Radar has spotlighted the project as one of electronic music’s most intriguing new acts.

The mind behind Textbook Maneuver is Michael Keane, a Bronx-born, New Jersey-based composer. A classically trained pianist with a punk DIY sensibility, Keane blends cerebral sound design with cinematic storytelling. His influences range from Genesis (Duke era), Rush, and Gary Numan to The Postal Service, U.N.K.L.E., and Phantogram, culminating in a sound that balances IDM’s intellectual curiosity with ambient and prog-infused emotional resonance. Critics have drawn parallels to Jon Hopkins and Nils Frahm, while listeners may detect echoes of Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, and Squarepusher.

The track “Adrenaline Slip” showcases shifting rhythms, cascading synth bursts, twinkling tones, and layered textures that navigate expansive chillout passages, moody atmospheres, and a frenetic, breakneck outro. It highlights Keane’s mastery of IDM complexity while remaining accessible and emotionally engaging.

Michael Keane explains:

“‘Adrenaline Slip’ was the song that hit me the most on my album. The name came first—I wanted to capture moments of pure adrenaline, whether skateboarding, dancing, or hanging out with friends. There’s a fleeting calm within those highs, which is the ‘slip.’ That duality inspired the track’s structure: EDM-driven intensity, slower synth/prog chill sections, and a finale that accelerates into almost punk-rock speed.”

With this new version and accompanying visual, Textbook Maneuver promises to further cement his reputation as a boundary-pushing force in experimental electronic music.
