Griz‘s Ride Waves tour is a technicolor dream that is equal parts funk and euphoria. The feeling of love and community that is felt throughout the room while hundreds of voices sing transcends space and time. Simply put, this tour is not a show it is an immersive experience. From the parade of talented musicians and artists that take the stage to the mesmerizing laser show, I’m not sure I remember a moment where my feet were on the ground. There is something about a Griz show that will leave you overflowing with love and gratitude when you leave and it is such a pleasure to ride the waves of these emotions.
All puns aside, beyond the talent that comes along with this tour the visual experience is ethereal. The psychedelic color scheme and trippy visuals take you on a trip that has no destination but presents a vessel for the ride. There is a sense of adoration in the air that at first can seem directed towards Griz himself but it’s much bigger than that. There is so much love for the message of love itself that brings people together. It is the message of “show love, spread love” that is the source of the feeling that fills the room, a message much louder than the music.
