Today marks the official debut of StrataSonic Records, with its first release coming from Parisian house music icon Dan Ghenacia, co-founder of Apollonia. Ghenacia’s latest three-track EP, Rouge ou Noir, is out now and sets the tone for the label‘s creative direction.
The title track, “Rouge ou Noir,” immediately hooks listeners with its funky, looped guitar riffs and neon-lit synths, carried by gritty, dynamic drums. The second track, “Chilly”, blends laid-back rhythms with rugged synth arpeggios, delivering a deep, groovy energy. The EP is rounded off with a low-slung, dubbed-out remix of “Chilly,” adding another layer to the mix.
Reflecting on the project, Ghenacia shared, “Everything unfolded at a dizzying pace. Five days in a dream studio in Los Angeles led to Rouge ou Noir, a surreal and psychedelic experience with funky vibes. StrataSonic, this young label, is showing boundless creativity with its team to maximize the release’s impact.”
With over 25 years of DJing experience, running essential house music labels, and hosting influential parties, Dan Ghenacia brings all his knowledge to this new solo project, solidifying his place as a pioneer in the genre. StrataSonic Records promises to continue pushing creative boundaries, and the Rouge ou Noir EP is just the beginning.
