American producer STAR SEED returns to SLANDER’s Heaven Sent imprint with ‘Burial,’ a three-track release arriving October 17, showcasing his latest explorations in celestial bass. At the heart of the EP is “Gold,” a moving collaboration with Austin-based vocalist, songwriter, and producer Josh Rubin, complemented by previously released singles “Burial” and “Transcend.”

“Gold” is a melodic dubstep centerpiece, featuring Rubin’s heartfelt vocals layered over atmospheric production. Gentle breakbeat percussion and expansive ambient textures set the stage before glitch-charged synths and laser-fired leads drive the track to an emotional peak, reflecting the bittersweet duality of love and loss.

Reflecting on the collaboration, STAR SEED shared:
“Josh and I wrote this song a couple years back, and it’s one we’ve held close ever since. ‘Gold’ is an emotional melodic dubstep track about holding onto words that feel priceless, even as love starts to slip away. It carries a lot of heart, and we can’t wait to share it.”

Josh Rubin adds:
“This song is about how when you’re deeply in love, you tend to ignore the warning signs and even your own intuition. Love is one of the most addicting drugs, and we tend to hold on even at our own expense.”

Alongside “Gold,” the EP features “Burial” and “Transcend,” which have already gained coverage from outlets including Frontview Magazine, Find Your Sounds, EKM, and Skope Mag, signaling the continued rise of STAR SEED’s sound. His music has received support from tastemakers such as Illenium, Zeds Dead, Excision, Deadmau5, NGHTMRE, SLANDER, and William Black.

On the live front, STAR SEED has bolstered his presence with headline shows in Kentucky and Cincinnati, tour support for Seven Lions, Trivecta, William Black, and MitiS, and a confirmed debut at Groove Cruise 2026.

For his part, Josh Rubin has solidified himself as one of the most recognizable voices in dance music, contributing to releases by REAPER, yetep, Synymata, ARMNHMR, and Mazare, while also developing his liquid RnB alias XLVR and collaborative project Smile the Roses with LA-based producer Ellum. Rubin’s hybrid DJ sets, combining live vocals with electronic performance, have reached audiences across Austin, Los Angeles, Denver, Salt Lake City, and beyond.

With ‘Burial,’ STAR SEED continues to refine his vision of blending organic textures with futuristic bass design, fusing spirituality, nature, and immersive soundscapes. Anchored by “Gold,” the EP captures the emotional depth of his catalog while pointing toward the next evolution of his sound.
