Transylvanian-born pop powerhouse Sorana is turning inward while looking toward the dancefloor with “E.T.,” the latest preview of her forthcoming debut album, Electronic Therapy, arriving later this year. Equal parts playful, chaotic and euphoric, the new single transforms nightlife into a form of catharsis, exploring the intersection of mental health, digital overload and the simple act of being present in the moment.
Written alongside Madison Love, whose credits include Lady Gaga, Camila Cabello and Addison Rae, and Charles Nelson, known for his work with Flo Rida and Alan Walker, “E.T.” combines infectious electronic-pop hooks with maximalist dancefloor energy. The track also showcases the songwriting instincts that have already made Sorana a major force behind some of pop’s biggest records, including songs for KATSEYE, Doechii and The Chainsmokers.
At its core, “E.T.” is a tongue-in-cheek argument for stepping away from the screen and reconnecting with real life. Rather than diagnosing every emotional struggle through social media, Sorana suggests that sometimes the answer can be considerably simpler: put down the phone, go dancing and allow an experience to exist without immediately documenting it.
“Maybe you don’t need therapy or a mental health self diagnosis you picked up on TikTok,” Sorana explains. “Maybe you just need to stop scrolling, put your phone down, and go dancing. Go to a concert without filming it, and let the night live in your memory instead of your camera roll.”
She continues, “We experience so much life through the lens of our phones now, and I think that distance from the actual moment is part of why so many people — including me — struggle with mental health. Sometimes the dopamine hit you’re searching for isn’t hiding in your phone. Sometimes you just need a little electronic therapy and a little twerking at the club.”
That philosophy will move from the studio to the stage on Friday, August 21, when Sorana performs “E.T.” live at Subculture’s “REBLOG” rave at Catch One in Los Angeles. She joins Slush Puppy, Miles Jai, Anna Luna and Contact Sports for a performance that arrives shortly after her viral HARD DRIVE Party.
Held at Music Plaza in Koreatown, the intimate demo-listening event offered fans an unfiltered look into Sorana’s creative process, featuring unreleased melodies, songwriting drafts and early production ideas pulled directly from her archive. The event generated more than 1.3 million views and earned coverage from Impact, further demonstrating the growing interest surrounding her solo era.
Both experiences reflect the central idea behind “E.T.”: showing up in real life rather than experiencing everything through a screen.
Sorana’s relationship with music began long before her emergence as a global songwriter and solo artist. She studied classical piano as a child, developing a musical foundation that would eventually inform her eclectic approach to pop and electronic music. Influenced by artists including Michael Jackson, Sia, Lana Del Rey and Lady Gaga, she has built a style that combines techno, pop and electronic production with an intentionally bold visual identity.
Her career began in Transylvania, where she gained early exposure through pageants, television appearances and performances with bands before developing an international songwriting career. That work has since generated more than 5 billion streams, multiple Platinum certifications across the U.S., U.K. and South Korea, and more than 5 million physical records sold.
As a songwriter, Sorana has contributed to music from KATSEYE, The Chainsmokers, Charli XCX, Jennie, Ava Max, Doechii, Illenium and Little Mix, including the multi-Platinum hits “Takeaway” and “Heartbreak Anthem.” Her résumé also includes a No. 1 collaboration with David Guetta and a creative partnership with Alan Walker connected to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
Her creative identity extends beyond songwriting and production. Sorana designs her own fashion, including handmade costumes and light-up wigs, further developing the futuristic visual world surrounding her music.
In 2022, she officially stepped into the spotlight as a solo artist with “redruM,” her collaboration with David Guetta. She followed with the EPs Techno Sexual in 2023 and Techno Sexual (Even More Sexual) in 2025, projects that explored cyberpunk themes surrounding digital intimacy, sexuality and technology.
She reunited with Alan Walker in 2025 for “Mind of a Warrior,” the official anthem for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, while more recently continuing to generate attention through her work with Adam XX and Delulu featuring Ryan Lu.
Now, with Electronic Therapy on the horizon, Sorana is bringing those worlds together. “E.T.” captures the album’s central tension between technology and human connection, turning the overstimulation of modern life into something physical, loud and ultimately liberating.
Sometimes, the best way to disconnect is to turn the music up.
