Following a successful debut under the name Elsewhere Festival, the newly rebranded Somewhere Festival & Conference returns to Downtown Wichita, Kansas, on June 13–14, promising a bold, future-forward celebration of music, art, and social change. With a genre-defying lineup and a mission to empower artists and spark community action, Somewhere is redefining what it means to be a modern music festival.

This year’s edition is headlined by global luminaries including electronic icon Deadmau5, genre-melding singer Suki Waterhouse, avant-garde beatmaker Flying Lotus, and rising rap sensation BigXthaPlug. They’ll be joined by a boundary-pushing mix of artists including Kim Gordon, Aloe Blacc with 2ŁØT, Cassian, Tinlicker (Live), Jerro, Die Spitz, Tommy Newport, Elise Trouw, La Luz, Chris Luno, and many more. True to its mission, Somewhere Festival leans into discovery, presenting a genre-agnostic lineup designed to spark curiosity and invite audiences to explore new sounds.

“With Somewhere Fest, we’re proving that Wichita isn’t ‘elsewhere’ when it comes to music and culture—it’s Somewhere,” said Chase Koch, founder of Movement Musick. “A place where artists and audiences can connect, collaborate, and create something truly meaningful.”

At its core, Somewhere Festival is more than just a celebration of music—it’s a platform for innovation, creativity, and community impact. Through immersive art, cutting-edge AI-driven music experiences, and live mural installations curated by Harvester Arts, the festival weaves together live performance with interactive storytelling. A dedicated free stage and accessible ticketing ensure that the festival remains open to the wider community.

The social mission of the event runs deep. In partnership with organizations like The Phoenix, 1 Million Strong, Learning Lab Wichita, Empower North End, Create Campaign, and the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), the festival grounds itself in real-world impact. On-site activations will tackle issues like mental health, addiction recovery, free speech advocacy, economic mobility, and education—with attendees earning exclusive merch for participating in social actions.

“Somewhere Festival is about using music as a platform for creativity, exploration, and positive change,” said Jessie Hartke, CEO of Midtopia. “This year we’re going even bigger—offering more opportunities for connection, artistic discovery, and real impact in Wichita.”

The experience expands with the Somewhere Conference, offering workshops, panels, and intimate talks for artists, music workers, and creatives. Highlights include a fireside chat with Aloe Blacc, where the acclaimed artist will discuss the intersection of music, activism, and entrepreneurship. Attendees can learn from leading professionals about building sustainable careers, growing audiences, and leveraging their artistry for social good.

“Somewhere Festival is more than a festival—it’s a movement,” said Rudy Love Jr., a Midtopia artist and festival performer. “It’s about giving artists the tools, knowledge, and community to build something lasting.”

Festivalgoers will also be treated to a robust food and beverage program, spotlighting local vendors and regional flavors. From plant-based dishes to the Blind Taste Challenge and Foodie Photo Op Contest, the culinary experience brings another layer of engagement to the weekend.

With its forward-thinking programming, commitment to equity and inclusion, and world-class lineup, Somewhere Festival & Conference positions Wichita as an emerging destination for music, arts, and cultural innovation. Whether you’re there to see Deadmau5 light up the night, take in a panel on music entrepreneurship, or discover your next favorite act, Somewhere Festival is shaping up to be a one-of-a-kind event that pushes the boundaries of what a music festival can be.
