Sometimes We All Gotta Have ‘Nights Like This’ | Loud Luxury at Avant Gardner

by The Freaks - Staff

It’s nights like this that make me feel like I’m young again! From beginning to end, each set at Avant Gardner this past Friday brought back some sort of memory from past raves and even my high school days.

Upon arrival, Black Caviar was tearing up the decks with tons of throwbacks. I thought I was in high school again when they dropped remixes of hit tunes like ‘Gasolina’ by Daddy Yankee and ‘Hotel Room Service’ by Pitbull. And they raised the bar even higher with an amazing mashup of Martin Solveig’sIntoxicated’ and ‘This Is What You Came For’ by Calvin Harris and Rihanna. And of course the duo couldn’t end their set without dropping their recent release, ‘Boing’.

Frank Walker took to the stage next and delivered a fun and uplifting set. His own hit remix of Kygo’s track ‘Not Ok’ had the crowd roaring and raving together. And if that’s not enough, he dropped ‘Close To Me’ by Diplo and Ellie Goulding which had the crowd screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs!

Now the moment we were all waiting for — Loud Luxury! This has to have been the most explosive (literally) intro I’ve ever seen at Avant Gardner. The pyrotechnics were on par and sparks and flames burst into the air as the pair of DJs got on stage. They waved their arms back and forth and the crowd mimicked their moves to the beat of the music playing. The energy that Andrew and Joe displayed was immediately transferred to the crowd of eagerly listening partygoers. The amount of hits that filled the air was unbelievable; with newer tracks like their hit ‘I’m Not Alright’ to an insane mashup of Fisher’sLosin’ It’ and ‘Calling (Lose My Mind)’ by Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso (which really took me back to my early days of raving). To close it their spectacular set, Loud Luxury dropped their biggest hit, ‘Body’ and the crowd went wild singing every word!

Finally, closing out the night was Arty. He brought us a very unique set which took us on a journey with a mixture of trance, electro house and even some trap was thrown in the mix. One of the defining moments of this set was when he finished off the set with ‘Our Origin’ by Armin van Buuren

Needless to say, this was an amazing night filled with a great mix of music, new and old. If you want to catch Loud Luxury in a city near you, check them out along their ‘Nights Like This’ tour here
