SLANDER and Fairlane Drop New Single “Heaven Feels Like” on Heaven Sent

by Press Release

SLANDER returns to their Heaven Sent label with an emotional new single, “Heaven Feels Like,” in collaboration with Fairlane. This release follows their 2020 hit Hurts Sometimes and reaffirms SLANDER’s role as pioneers in melodic bass, pushing the genre into fresh, emotional territory. The Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling duo—Derek Andersen and Scott Land—have built a devoted following with their sweeping, cinematic soundscapes, and their Heaven Sent imprint has become a refuge for soul-stirring bass music.

For their latest, SLANDER reunites with Vancouver-based Fairlane, a multi-instrumentalist known for his unique fusion of early 2000s rock influences and electronic energy. Heaven Feels Like showcases the synergy between SLANDER and Fairlane, layering angelic vocals, warm guitar riffs, lush piano, and towering synths. The track transitions seamlessly between introspective verses and euphoric, high-energy drops, taking listeners on a journey through themes of love and transcendence.

After nearly a year of perfecting this follow-up collaboration, SLANDER shares their excitement: “Heaven Feels Like is finally here… We’ve been working on this record with Fairlane for almost a year, and it really pushes the story forward from Hurts Sometimes. We hope this song brings you a sense of light and energy.” Fairlane adds that this track perfectly captures the hopeful message they set out to convey: “The tagline ‘that’s what heaven feels like’ was a powerful statement, and we worked to create a drop that truly does it justice.”

The success of Hurts Sometimes—which racked up over 10.3 million streams and gained support from major names like Illenium, Alison Wonderland, and Gryffin—sets high expectations for Heaven Feels Like. This new release, blending melodic bass and rocktronica, adds to SLANDER’s lineup of Heaven Sent hits, including collaborations like If Tomorrow Never Happens with Poo Bear and Nikademis, further cementing the label’s reputation.

SLANDER continues to captivate audiences with headline performances at Boo! Seattle, EDC Orlando, and Get Freaky, as well as two shows at Zouk Nightclub in Las Vegas. They’ll close out the year with a highly anticipated back-to-back set with Illenium at Decadence NYE, promising an unforgettable experience for fans.

The new single Heaven Feels Like—available now on all platforms—marks a powerful chapter in SLANDER and Fairlane’s creative partnership, solidifying Heaven Sent’s place as a label dedicated to depth and emotive resonance in the melodic bass scene.
