The news is in, my friends – the Skrillex Red Rocks show has sold out in mere minutes. Fans were eager to get their hands on tickets for the 5-hour set, and it seems that they were not disappointed.
The Red Rocks venue, with its capacity of almost 10,000 seats, has hosted Skrillex before in 2014 during his Mothership tour in support of his album Recess. However, it’s unlikely that the tickets for that show sold out as quickly as they did for this one.
As is often the case with high-demand events, tickets are already being resold on platforms such as StubHub and Vivid Seats for prices ranging from $250 to a whopping $8,000. This is despite the fact that a flight from Salt Lake City to Denver, arriving the day of the show and departing the day after, can be had for as little as $168 less than the cost of some resale tickets.
Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this whole situation is that Skrillex did not post about the show on any of his social media feeds. There is no mention of Red Rocks on his Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook pages – though he may have posted about it on his Instagram story, we cannot say for sure.
Regardless, it seems that Skrillex’s reputation alone was enough to sell out the show in record time. For those who missed out, the good news is that there’s always the next one – and in the meantime, you can watch a recording of Skrillex’s last solo show at Red Rocks to get a taste of what you missed.
