Sinego, the Colombian producer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist, is set to release the deluxe version of his highly praised debut album, Alterego, on August 23. This expanded edition, Alterego (Deluxe), follows the previously-released “El Día” installment with a new focus on “La Noche” – club-ready versions of tracks that explore the darker, nighttime side of the album, alongside five remixes. Each song seamlessly blends regional genres from various Latin countries with house and techno elements, creating a rich fusion of traditional and contemporary sounds.
The focus track, “El Ratón (La Noche),” offers a nighttime reimagining of Sinego’s collaboration with YoSoyMatt and Millo, giving new life to the original with echoing vocals and organic house elements.
A Journey Through Latin America
Alterego (Deluxe) immerses listeners in the diverse musical cultures of Latin America through Sinego’s innovative production. By incorporating regional samples and traditional folk influences, the project highlights countries often underrepresented in the dance music scene, such as Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, Cuba, and Colombia. Each track showcases seasoned collaborators from these nations, merging local genres with modern dance music.
While creating the album, Sinego traveled to different Latin American countries for each song, capturing the unique essence of each place. The deluxe version features nighttime renditions of “El Día” tracks, including Benjamín Carrión (La Noche) ft. Badwolf, an indie-dance take on Ecuadorian Bolero guitars with house music and tribal percussion. Another standout, Boa Noite (La Noche) ft. Tonina, mixes Samba with afro-house for a pulsating club hit, while Labios (La Noche) honors Ecuadorian Boleros and Julio Jaramillo with an atmospheric twist.
Sinego also introduces new tracks, such as El Ritmo (La Noche), which combines seductive vocals with dark-disco production for a hypnotic experience. Tropicana (La Noche) showcases Cuban vibrancy with PAUZA and Cucu Diamantes, while El Malevo (La Noche) ft. Kermesse pays homage to Argentina with a deep house flair. The album concludes with Espiral (La Noche) ft. Fernando Milagro, transporting listeners to Chile with haunting poetry and guitar melodies.
Star-Studded Collaborations and Remixes
In addition to the “La Noche” versions, the deluxe album features five new remixes from renowned artists, including Xinobi, Kermesse, French Braids, El Búho, and YoSoyMatt. These collaborators bring their unique interpretations to Sinego’s tracks, offering fresh perspectives on his fusion of Latin rhythms and electronic beats.
“Sinego” explains, “On Alterego, I traveled to every country in Latin America, immersing myself in the unique musical cultures of each place and blending traditional genres with house music. The result is a rich tapestry of sounds that feels both familiar and innovative, celebrating the diversity and power of musical fusion.”
Beyond Music: A Creative Journey
The Alterego project extends beyond music, accompanied by a travel documentary that gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at Sinego’s creative process. This documentary features collaborations with artists such as Xinobi, Moullinex, Pauza, Badwolf, YoSoyMatt, and more.
