The single was born from a spontaneous late-night studio session. “I had a session with Poo Bear where we worked on another song, and by the end of the night we were both half-asleep,” shndō recalls. “Something told me to play him these chords I had for ‘Anomaly.’ He loved it immediately and started humming melodies. I sat down and recorded his ideas on the spot—mostly melody patterns without lyrics. At one point, it even sounded like he mumbled the word ‘Anomaly,’ so I saved the file under that name. Later, when we got back in the studio, we fleshed out the idea into the full song you hear today.”
That spark of instinct and effortless collaboration shines through in “Anomaly”, a track that embodies both the serendipity of its creation and the emotive power of shndō’s artistry.
