South African afro-tech producer Shimza and Grammy-nominated British duo CamelPhat have joined forces for their latest track, “BADO,” featuring the evocative vocals of singer-songwriter Idd Aziz. Released on September 6th via Helix Records, “BADO” marks an exciting collaboration that blends intense afro house rhythms with raw electronic synths.

“BADO” follows Shimza‘s previous singles, including May’s “Parachute” featuring Rachel Chinouriri and February’s “Darling” with Aloe Blacc, which has amassed nearly 1.5 million streams. The new track masterfully combines Shimza‘s vibrant afro house percussion with CamelPhat‘s pulsating electronic textures. Shimza, born Ashley Raphala in Tembisa, is renowned as one of South Africa’s leading afro-tech artists. CamelPhat, the British duo comprising Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala, have established themselves as significant figures in the scene. Known for their Grammy-nominated hit “Cola,” which topped the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart, CamelPhat released their second album, Spiritual Milk, in 2023. The album, featuring collaborations with Jake Bugg, Grammar, and Kölsch, continues to push the boundaries of electronic dance music.
