Sharam Returns with Tech House Banger ‘Don’t Know (What)’ via Yoshitoshi Recordings

by Press Release

GRAMMY-winning producer Sharam is back with a vengeance, dropping his explosive new single ‘Don’t Know (What)’ on 6th September through his iconic label, Yoshitoshi Recordings. Known for his ability to craft infectious, floor-filling tracks, Sharam delivers once again with a driving tech house anthem that’s sure to set dancefloors ablaze.

‘Don’t Know (What)’ boasts a relentless groove, driven by a chopped-up, pitched-down vocal that moves in perfect sync with the track’s pulsating bassline. Sharam masterfully builds tension, leading to an insane second drop where wild synths and looping voices create a frenzy, unleashing pure energy at the peak of the track.

This single arrives as Sharam rides a wave of momentum in 2023. His March release, ‘Anthem,’ a collaboration with Diplo from Major Lazer, has already racked up over 2 million streams. Earlier in the year, Sharam remixed Eddie Amador’s classic ‘House Music’ for its 25th anniversary and joined forces with Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani, and Green Velvet for a fresh take on his 2007 hit, ‘P.A.T.T. (Party All The Time)’—a track that topped Beatport charts and garnered over 10 million streams.

Looking ahead, Sharam has a major release in the works: his fourth studio album is slated for 2025. Additionally, fans of his legendary duo Deep Dish can look forward to new collaborations with his long-time partner Dubfire.

Sharam’s two-decade career as a pioneer in dance music has earned him widespread acclaim, including three GRAMMY nominations and one GRAMMY win. As one half of the iconic duo Deep Dish, he’s recognized for constantly pushing the boundaries of house and techno. DJ Mag once described Sharam as a producer who “could never be accused of repeating the same trick over and over,” a reputation bolstered by his hit track ‘P.A.T.T. (Party All The Time)’, which peaked at #8 on the UK charts in 2008. That same year, Sharam was awarded BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix of the Year.

His influential label, Yoshitoshi, continues to shape the global dance scene. Founded in 1994, Yoshitoshi has delivered essential dance tracks for decades, including iconic releases like Skylark’s remix of Chiapet’s ‘Westworld’, Eddie Amador’s ‘Rise’, and Nicole Moudaber’s 2015 top-selling Beatport remix of Alcatraz’s ‘Giv Me Luv.’

Sharam’s previous albums, including the eclectic ‘Get Wild’ (2008), the genre-spanning ‘Retroactive’ (2016), and his techno-infused ‘Collecti’ (2017), have solidified his place as one of the most versatile and innovative producers in the electronic music world. His deep vocal house track ‘The Rain,’ originally an underground sensation in 2019, received a global release through Universal/EMI in 2022.

With ‘Don’t Know (What)’, Sharam once again proves his ability to craft infectious grooves that ignite dancefloors. This track is a must-spin at any rave, and with his monumental album on the horizon, expect more fire from Sharam in the months ahead.
