Shae District returns with a thrilling new single, “Mine,” a collaboration with acclaimed producer Veltri, out now on mau5trap.
Transporting listeners into Shae District’s dystopian universe, “Mine” is a bold fusion of indie/dance, dark electronica, and cinematic storytelling. Inspired by Bladerunner, Cyberpunk, and Steampunk aesthetics, the track embodies rebellion and defiance, blending aggressive synths, pulsating basslines, and hauntingly melodic vocals. With sonic influences drawn from Gesaffelstein and Justice, “Mine” delivers a gritty yet accessible auditory experience.
“To me, Shae District lives in an actual district,” explains the artist. “‘Mine’ is a song that spotlights the youthful and rebellious people of this world. It’s weird, dark, but digestible, thanks to the vocal elements. Our entire visual branding reflects this, incorporating alternative actors and immersive storytelling to bring the district to life.”
The dystopian realm of Shae District is a meticulously crafted neon-lit cybernetic world, where skyscrapers tower over industrial landscapes, and characters push back against oppressive forces. This world is not just a backdrop—it’s an extension of the music itself, amplifying the raw energy and emotion embedded in every beat.
Founded by Debjit, Shae District blends trance, house, rock, and electronic elements, akin to acts like RÜFÜS DU SOL and Bob Moses. Once a duo, now a solo project, Shae District has released three EPs, including a self-titled remix project featuring 20 global producers and a live performance video from Nederland, CO.
With an impressive touring history, Shae District has shared stages with Jai Wolf, Bob Moses, Sofi Tukker, Big Gigantic, Hayden James, Manila Killa, and Phantoms, while also performing at ODESZA’s Official Afterparty with Golden Features.
