Seven Lions Launches New Record Label – Ophelia

by The Freaks - Staff

Jeff Montalvo AKA Seven Lions has today announced a new realm within his ever-expanding world – the launch of his record label Ophelia. Launching with Seven Lions feat. Runn ‘Calling You Home’ this Friday, Ophelia will now serve as the home base for the majority of new music from the beloved electronic music producer and showcase the unique blend of melodic dubstep, trance, and electro that has become his calling card.

“Really happy to finally announce my new record label Ophelia. I’ve been lucky enough to release on some great record labels through the years but I couldn’t be more excited to have a home base for my music now. Looking forward to showing you all that I’ve been working on. Lots of collaborations and great artwork on the horizon. The first release is called Calling You Home feat. Runn and will be out Friday. Hope you enjoy! – Jeff

A classic Seven Lions production that has become a fanatically hunted ID from his recent headline and festival sets, ‘Calling You Home’ brings together ethereal vocals, euphoric melodies and hook-laden drops to mark a worthy first release on the label.
The news of Ophelia come nipping at the heels of a massive announcement just a week ago – the debut of Montalvo’s new event series, entitled  ‘Chronicles,’ of which the first installment will take place on May 12 at Seattle’s WaMu Theater.
Bringing in new stage design, custom art installations, roaming performers, and vendors, Chronicles will provide a unique, immersive experience and a musical journey that progresses through deeper grooves, trance, bass music, psy-trance and Seven Lions’ own inimitable blend.
Curating a line-up that delves into all corners of his influences and tastes – with acts from the worlds of psy-trance, bass music, and trance respectively: Liquid Soul, Kill The Noise, Jason Ross.

Chronicles will also see Seven Lions play two contrasting sets to book-end the event’s musical journey. Opening up the room with a special ‘Observatory’ set, Seven Lions will explore his deeper and more experimental side as with his recently launched mix series, whilst his headline closing set will provide the classic peak-time Seven Lions experience that he has imported to festival stages, clubs and theatre halls across the globe.
