Acclaimed producer and melodic bass pioneer Seven Lions returns with a new EP, The Dreams Strange and Eternal, arriving May 1. Serving as both a companion and narrative extension to his 2025 album Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars, the project deepens the immersive world-building and emotional storytelling that has come to define his recent output.
The announcement follows the release of two standout singles that set the tone for the EP’s sonic scope. In March, Seven Lions unveiled “Hurricane,” a euphoric, trance-leaning collaboration with Andrew Bayer and OAKS, balancing melodic intensity with festival-ready energy. In April, he followed with “Free,” featuring Brieanna Grace, a genre-blurring record that threads together multiple facets of his signature sound. Alongside its release, fans were invited to participate in a remix contest, with the winning entry set for release on Ophelia Records on May 12.
The Dreams Strange and Eternal introduces four additional unreleased tracks, forming a cohesive and cinematic listening experience. The EP opens with “A Crown of Seven Moons,” a serene and atmospheric entry point that eases listeners into its sonic landscape. “Summer,” another collaboration with OAKS, injects an uplifting, driving electro pulse layered with soaring vocals, while “Dreams” channels Eurodance influences before shifting into a heavier dubstep framework. The title track, “Strange and Eternal,” closes the project with a rich, evocative soundscape that reinforces the EP’s thematic depth.
The release builds on the momentum of Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars, which debuted in December to widespread acclaim, earning Best Album at the EDM Awards and Album of the Year from Dancing Astronaut. Together, the album and EP form a broader creative arc that highlights Seven Lions’ continued evolution as both a producer and storyteller.
The EP also arrives as Seven Lions reaches the midpoint of his North American headline tour, with major dates still ahead at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, The Music Hall in Texas, and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California. Known for his immersive production and emotionally driven live performances, these upcoming shows are set to bring the world of Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars—and now The Dreams Strange and Eternal—to life on an even larger scale.
Behind the project is Jeff Montalvo, the artist who launched Seven Lions into global recognition following his 2012 remix contest win for Above & Beyond’s “You Got to Go.” That breakthrough led to releases on influential labels including Anjunabeats, OWSLA, and Casablanca Records, before he established his own imprint, Ophelia Records, now a cornerstone of the melodic bass scene.
With a catalog that includes defining tracks like “Strangers,” “Rush Over Me,” and “Need Your Love,” along with his 2022 album Beyond the Veil, Seven Lions has collaborated with leading names such as Illenium, Subtronics, and Skylar Grey while continuing to push the genre’s boundaries. A dominant force on the live circuit, he has sold out iconic venues including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, LA State Historic Park, and the Tacoma Dome, and performed at major festivals such as Ultra Music Festival Miami, EDC Las Vegas, and Electric Forest.
With over a billion streams and an ongoing commitment to spotlighting emerging talent through Ophelia Records, Seven Lions remains at the forefront of electronic music—crafting expansive, emotionally resonant worlds that continue to evolve with each release.
